Vouchers

Vouchers are pre-generated access codes that grant temporary network access. They are commonly used in hotels (one voucher per guest), cafes (printed on receipts), and events (distributed to attendees). Each voucher can have time limits, data caps, and bandwidth restrictions.

Creating Vouchers

Single Voucher

  1. Navigate to Users > Vouchers
  2. Click Add Voucher
  3. Configure settings:
    • Code - Auto-generated or custom
    • Validity - Duration the voucher is usable
    • Usage Limit - Number of times it can be used
  4. Click Save

Bulk Generation

  1. Navigate to Users > Vouchers
  2. Click Generate Batch
  3. Configure:
    • Quantity - Number of vouchers
    • Prefix - Optional prefix for codes
    • Validity - Duration for all vouchers
    • Session Limits - Time/data limits per use
  4. Click Generate

Apply standard RADIUS attributes to vouchers:

Session Timeout

Session-Timeout := 3600

Voucher Authentication

On Captive Portal

  1. User connects to guest WiFi
  2. Splash page appears
  3. User enters voucher code
  4. Authentication processed
  5. Access granted with configured limits

Configuration

  1. Create a Captive Portal
  2. Add "Voucher" as an Authentication Provider
  3. Configure the splash page to show voucher input
  4. Optionally customize the voucher form appearance

Managing Vouchers

Viewing Vouchers

The voucher list shows:

  • Code
  • Status (Active, Used, Expired)
  • Creation date
  • Expiration date
  • Usage count

Filtering

Filter vouchers by:

  • Status
  • Creation date range
  • Usage status

Exporting

Export voucher codes:

  1. Select vouchers or "Select All"
  2. Click Export
  3. Choose format (CSV, PDF)
  4. Download file

Printing

Print voucher cards:

  1. Select vouchers
  2. Click Print
  3. Choose template (cards, list)
  4. Print or save as PDF

Integration with PMS

For hotels using Property Management Systems:

  1. Enable PMS integration in Account Settings
  2. Configure the PMS connector
  3. Vouchers can be auto-generated on guest check-in
  4. Vouchers auto-expire on check-out

Best Practices

  1. Set appropriate limits - Balance usability with resource management
  2. Use prefixes - Organize vouchers by date, event, or purpose
  3. Regular cleanup - Delete expired vouchers periodically
  4. Monitor usage - Review voucher authentication reports
  5. Secure distribution - Don't publicly share voucher codes
